Artists deconstruct city’s frenzied preparations for Commonwealth Games

I’ll be in India for the month of July with an exhibition in August.

Temporary Occupants is an exhibition of temporary site/place related installation works curated by David Willburn and Iris Bechtol including local artists:  Terri Thornton, Thomas Feulmer, Brian Fridge, Christine Bisetto, Michael Mazurek, Rebecca Carter, Brennen Bechtol, Garland Fielder, Simeen Farhat, Eastfield Sculpture Collective, David Willburn and Iris Bechtol.

I’ve begun to write for Dallas’ new arts blog FrontRow. This is my first article where I talk about the relationship between Jacob Lawrence’s “Life of Toussaint L’Ouverture” and Superflex’s “Flooded McDonalds.”

Anne Lawrence and Richard Serrano from Art This Week came by 500x to talk about The Love Letter.  We talked about the different meanings and uses of the language of politeness, changing handwriting to create new identities for different audiences and contexts, what is present and what remains hidden beneath the surface in communication. In September I traveled to Korea as a part of an award from the Cheongju International Craft competition.  This is one of my favorite bits of material culture from the trip.
